CCC1 Report â 31st October 2015
U11 (2004) Hurlers
Our last hurling game for the year and played on a balmy October Saturday. The weather has been unusually kind for this time of year and our hurlers showed that when the ground is fast their hurling is played with a similar approach.
In AGP Sars took on Cuala with an early 10 am start but that didnât stop the lads getting out of the blocks early scoring some excellent points. Their general play was brilliant and coupled with a strong determination in the tackle Cuala had no answer as two fine wins were the order of the day.
Panel: Alex Corrigan, Roghan Withero, Alex Skeehan, Fionn Buckley, Finn Tuohy, Rossa Daly, Ben OâToole, Charlie Mulqueen, David Mulqueen, Jack Kelly, Conor Hylands, Andrew Hill, Tommy Mulhall, Jack Doyle, Cathal Doody, Jack Behan & Joey McSweeney.
Our other panel were away in Skerries and it was great to see so many travel out to North County Dublin. With our opponents having less numbers, some of the Lucan lads played with Skerries. However, the excellent points and goals they scored against Lucan just shows the enjoyment they have in hurling, which is what the Go Games is all about. A good showing in a win and a loss but as with the home game, great determination shown.
Panel: Sam Donohoe, Alex Hickey, Jamie Smith, Conor Sheary, Ross Campion, Finn Bruton, Jack Langan, James Moloney, Conor OâNeill, Scott OâSullivan, Alex Kelly, Andrew Glynn, Rian Fortune, Joey Dunne, Gareth Kennedy, Luke Trunk, Eoin Kilduff, Eoin Hanley, Jamie Carroll, Matthew Ryan & Conor King.
I suppose though at this stage of the year and with league competition just around the corner we should be looking at how much the lads have progressed not only as hurlers but as young adults. The lads are a credit both at training and at matches and have come on in leaps and bounds and on behalf of the U11 2004 Mentors; we can only say Thank You to the players and their parents who support the kids in such large numbers.
