U16B hurling Lucan V St Pats Palmerstown
May 05, 2015
After the previous weeks defeat to Wild Geese despite a brilliant second half Lucan were to be put to the test against a Pats side which started off with sheer determination. Within 10 mins Lucan were down 1 1 to 0 0. Not to be outdone Lucan gradually started to get on top with Shaun Keegan putting over the first score. St Pats quickly replied with another score. Things were not looking good, but the lads settled in quickly. Cillian Murray put in another man of the match performance at midfield, winning ball and using it to great effect. Thomas Heffernan in a new roll for this side was in corner forward position, after 5 mins he had injured his finger, no mention of the injury saw him through this half scoring 4 goals. Shanun Keegan put over another 2 points on the board. The backs were still busy with Paul Murtagh and Zach Meade tidying up, stopping Pats in their tracks. Indeed Pats were only to score a goal in the second half their only score after their blistering first 10 mins. James Hoey Joseph Lakes, Alex Bourke and Aidan Flynn put alot of work in in midfield and the half back line
The second half saw Cillian Murray popping over a point and David Grudzinkas taking on his new position as full foward slotting away 2 goals. Sean O'Reilly provided a couple of neat balls to Cillian hogan who ably scored a point and a goal this half.
Final score Lucan 8 6 St Pats 2 2
