CC1 Report – 11th April 2015

U9 Hurling

Our under 9 hurling 3 team group showed some fine team performances on Saturday morning against Cuala at the 12th Lock. They showed some great skills and determination to achieve 3 impressive results and are now really begining to show the results of all the hard work they put in at training as they make the gradual change from ground to air hurling

U11 Hurling

Despite the bitterly cold conditions Lucan Hurled with great courage and commitment and no little skill.  Lucan stood up to the physicality of Judes and let their hurling skills count.  With great team work and despite playing against a strong wind Lucan lead by 2 points at half time and went on to close out the game in the second half, despite a battling performance from Judes.  In fact Lucan performed so well they held Judes scoreless in the second half and closed out as deserved winners 6-7 to 2-1.  A truly stellar performance from all the lads.

In the second game, Lucan fell just short despite playing some fine hurling.  A very determined bunch of lads battled bravely and some of the lessons from the Easter camp were clearly on show but were not enough to overcome St. Judes.  Good signs here for the future though!

Where did that sun go?  That is the question the Lucan lads were asking as our other two team group welcomed Skerries Harps for the first time.  Despite the coolness our coastal opponents brought the sunshine to two excellent encounters played in a superb spirit.  With numbers reduced, a couple of the Lucan lads played with Skerries and it added a little spice to the encounter as team mates were vying hard to outdo each other.  There was a lot of skill on show in both games and even the coldness did not dampen the enthusiasm of the lads.  Excellent performances all round.
