Bereavement Notices 

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the untimely passing of Paul Lyons. Husband of Denise, Father of Daragh (Senior Hurling), Anna (Minor Camogie) and Ciara (U16 Ladies football). Paul has been heavily involved in the club over the years, managing the 2005 boys football team from the academy all the way up to minor, only finishing up last December and having much success along the way. On behalf of Lucan Sarsfields, we would like to offer our sincere condolences to all of Paul’s family and friends at this difficult time. Ar dheis dé go raibh a hanam dilís. 

It is with great sadness that we also inform you of the untimely passing of Derek Maher. Derek (also known as Marsy) was on the Senior Hurling team who brought the club to Senior level in 1999. On behalf of Lucan Sarsfields, we would like to extend our deepest sympathy to all of Derek's family and friends. Ar dhéis Dé go raibh a hanam dílís. 


Our Annual Golf Classic will take place on the 21st of June 2024 in Lucan Golf Club. The cost of a four-person team is €450. This event books up quickly and we had an unprecedented demand for tee times last year so make sure to register early. Invitations are also open for sponsorship opportunities for both companies and personal support. The Cúpla Focal Club started on Monday the 15th of January from 8-9pm and will continue every Monday. This is a great opportunity to learn Irish. All welcome.  


The club has recently introduced Honorary Life Membership. Club Members over the age of 70, who have been members of the club for at least 20 years, can be nominated for approval by the Executive for this Membership of the club. Such nominations can be made by any full member of the club by emailing

White Collar Boxing 

Due to unprecedented demand, we are once again taking over the big top on the 4th of May 2024 for another White-Collar Boxing Showdown.

We had no winner of last week’s lotto jackpot of €2,200. 

The Numbers were 3, 5, 11, 16 

The lucky dip prizes go to Edel Mooney, Maria Kelly, Michael & Joan Molloy, Sinead O' Lanagáin and Catherine Dardis, 

The Easter Eggs go to Anthony Doody, Frank Fleming, Columba Elliot, Gerry McAndrew and Maria O’Connor. 

This week’s Lotto will be for a jackpot of €2,600. The draw is sponsored by Newcastle Golf Centre and will be led by Séamus Clandillon. 


A huge congratulations to our own Alex Hanley who lined out for his adopted Warwickshire over the weekend in their win over Fermanagh to secure the Allianz Division 3B Hurling League Title. See Alex pictured below with his proud dad Mike. 



Our Academy is on every Saturday morning from 9-11am and provides a great opportunity to get involved in Gaelic, Hurling and Camogie. It is open to children born in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Training times are age dependent, please contact our club Games Promotion Officer, Alan O’Neill - 0871213587   


Well done to Laura, Aoife, Amy and Emma (not pictured) on their win over Antrim with the Dublin Senior Camogie team. It was great to see some of our U13 girls at the match supporting the girls in blue! 


Well done to Senan Bolger, Rian Doherty, Killian Costello and Cian Gavin on their win with the Dublin Minor Footballers over Laois. A huge congratulations to Senan Bolger on his man of the match award. Great to see so many of the lads clubmates out supporting them. 


There was plenty of action over the weekend with our Dublin Ladies footballers. Siobhán Beirne, Chloe O’Shea and Rachel Johnston all lined out for the minors with Réka Kiss Kallo (C) and Cara Coffey lining out for the U16s. Well done girls. 


Well done to Sarah Ivory, Grace Birch and Aoife McKenna who lined out with the Dublin U15 Development squad v Cavan. 



We had five Lucan players trialling for the Dublin U14 Hurling team over the weekend. Well done to Johnny, Daire, Léon, Tomás and Victor and best of luck going forward!
