Lucan Sarsfield’s Club Notes

Notice

The Club has recently  moved from ClubForce to ClubZap. Going forward it will be used for club communications and to pay and renew membership and the lotto. We encourage all of our members to download ClubZap through the following; Link to ClubZap

Football

As we start the new adult football season, we still have some vacancies in the management teams for next year’s adult and minor teams. We will field five adult teams and three minor teams in the coming season. Anyone interested in being involved in any capacity in any team please contact Gerry McAndrew (085 1744627) or David Herlihy (087 3416702) in the coming days. This could be a very rewarding experience and great craic.

Ladies Football

We hosted Wanderers Australia AFL teams in Abbotstown on the 7th of January for a series of games. An U15/16 and U16/18 selection of Lucan girls took part in these friendlies. The players then returned to the clubhouse for refreshments and the players of the matches were presented jerseys of the other team by our All Ireland Winner Abby Shiels. This was a great experience for all of the players and thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of the event.

Social

The Cúpla Focal Club will start on Monday the 15th of January from 8-9pm and will continue every Monday. This is a great opportunity to learn Irish. All welcome.

There will be a hurling & camogie themed Quiz on Friday the 19th of January. A table of 4 will cost 40 euro and all proceeds will be put towards the purchase of team sliotars.

Our Annual Volunteers Night will be held on Saturday the 20th of January from 8pm. We invite anyone who has volunteered over the year to join us for a night of appreciation. Finger food will be provided

Healthy Club

We are taking part in the Irish Life ‘Every Step Counts’ Challenge again this year. We encourage all of our members to signup via the Irish life app. This is a great opportunity to exercise and with the change of winning some money for the club.

On Wednesday the 17th of January at 7:30pm we will be doing ‘Ireland Lights up’. This is an initiative with Operation Transformation to get groups of people to walk and talk in a safe environment during the dark winter evenings. We hope to see you all there.

Zumba continues every Tuesday @7:45pm in the function room. (€10 per session, every 5th session free)

Lotto

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, this week’s lotto (11/01/24) has been postponed. It will take place as soon as the issue is resolved. Apologies for any inconvenience caused and we appreciate your patience.
