Team News

 Inter County

Inter County for Lucan continued with Chris O’Leary, John Bellew, Ronán Smith and Paul Crummey all featuring in the Walsh Cup on Saturday’s win against Westmeath. Abby Shiels also featured in the Dublin football panel beating Meath 1-11 to 0-8 in the opener of the league last Saturday. U16 Dublin Camogie kicked off the Leinster All Ireland Series with four Lucan stars lining out, Isabel Cuffe, Chloe O’Shea Rachel Johnson and Sadhbh Ni Buachalla, well done girls!

Looking forward, we have plenty of representation in the Colleges competitions that are kicking off soon, we know our players will do us proud and then return to the books to avoid the summer repeats, we all know that school is important but Hurling and Football are importanter (sorry, the old jokes are the best!)

Membership

Membership for 2023 is now open

Our number 1 priority is player welfare and we’d like to remind parents and adult players that players need to be registered and paid members of the club in order to be covered by insurance. This includes training and challenge matches as well as official club games. Any unregistered players that train or play matches are doing so at their own risk and accepting that they will cover any medical costs that may result from injuries.

Just a couple of points when doing membership this year:

  • As per club rules, all managers/mentors/coaches must be full members. Juvenile membership only includes Social membership which is not suitable for this role. All Family membership options include full adult memberships
  • There is an option to purchase a ticket for GAA National Draw along with your membership (see first listed option on membership list). All proceeds go to the club and there is a chance to win a brand new Dacia Duster car and All Ireland Final packages
  • If you have moved address since your last registration, or changed email can you please ensure that the correct details are entered on this year’s application.
  • There is an option to pay membership over 6 months via debit/credit card and this can be selected at the end of the process
  • If you are unsure which option to select or what option are best value for money you can drop a mail to lucan.sarsfields.registrar@gmail.com

Finally, if anyone has any issues or challenges with membership you can contact me in 100% confidence at lucan.sarsfields.registrar@gmail.com and we will work together to sort something out

with thanks

John Cosgrove, Lucan Sarsfield’s Registrar
