Bereavement Notice

May 04, 2022

Lucan Sarsfields regrets the untimely passing of Bridget Mulqueen, one of the Club’s great supporters through the years.  Bridget played football for the Club, she was a passionate supporter of the senior hurlers, she was involved in the Social Committee, she worked as a bar volunteer and she was a keen card-player on Friday nights.  She served on the Executive and was Club Treasurer at the turn of the Millenium, where her attention to detail was legendary.  Her presence at Club Executive meetings, with her friends Ailish McGarrigle and Gillian O’Brien, not to mention her own mischievous sense of humour, lightened the atmosphere, as well as helping to transform Lucan Sarsfields into the much more inclusive club it is today.  Bridget’s relationship with Lucan Sarsfields went way beyond the norm - she was introduced to her future husband John O’Sullivan (by his mother) in Lucan Sarsfields clubhouse, and their wedding reception took place in the club in 2003.  The Club extends sincere condolences to Bridget’s husband John, sons Jack, Daniel and Ben, and to her extended family and wide circle of friends.
