Minor Camogie Named Team of Month for December 2019

Following their unbeaten run in the championship campaign, and after their win in the county final, the Minor A Camogie team were named Echo Team of the Month for December. The joint captains Aoife Mahon and Laura Quinn were in attendance to receive their award in the Green Isle Hotel last Thursday.

Condolences to the Stagg Family, the Herlihy family and the Gallagher family on their recent bereavements

Shaugho Retires

Huge thanks to Stephen ‘Shaugho’ O’Shaughnessy, who, after 19 years of senior football with the club, has confirmed his retirement. Stephen holds 3 Leinster titles from his time with the Dublin team, is a great motivator in the dressing room, leaves everything on the pitch in a game and a great role model for younger players. He will still be very much involved in the development of Gaelic games as Dublin GPO with Co Board and also helping out with teams in Lucan Sarsfields.

Christmas Draw. The Draw will take place during the Christmas party night to be held at the club on Saturday December 21. Music will be by Justin Mason and food will be served. No admission charge and all welcome! This is a vital fundraiser for the club to ensure we can keep supporting our 140+ teams’ activities. Please return all sold tickets to the clubhouse as soon as possible, and, if you need additional tickets, they are also available from the clubhouse bar, open every weekday evening from 7:30pm.

Lucan Healthy Club Appeal for Inner City Helping Homeless. From Monday 2nd December to Saturday 14th, Club Members donated over 100 shoeboxes and 10 Large bags of clothing. The Healthy Club thanks everyone for their donation and special thanks to Conor McGrath (Junior A Football) and his colleagues at DHL Forwarding for their terrific response.

Camogie

At the end of another successful and enjoyable year, I want to thank everyone who has supported the camogie section in 2019, to all of the players and parents, for their attendance and commitment, to all the mentors and volunteers, for all their hard work in continuing to develop the skills and team spirit of our players, to everyone who has helped out in any way with set up for matches, umpire roles, jersey washing, and all of the other background tasks which sometimes go unnoticed, thanks also to all those who have provided sponsorship and who have carried out fundraising for the teams, thanks to the executive committee and to the adult and juvenile games committees for their continued support. A special word of thanks to Colette Drum as she steps down from the referee co-ordinator role.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and best wishes for 20x20.

Ollie Mahon

The Ladies Football Section wishes everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year. Many thanks for your hard work to mentors and helpers for the ladies and girls in all teams from Academy to Senior; keeping them active and enjoying their football. Many thanks for attending our regular meetings and sharing your learning's and experience to other mentors coming up along the line. The numbers involved show the commitment and planning everyone puts in. We would like to thank those who do that little bit extra on the LF Committee: Mick Wisdom (LF Secretary) , Paddy Lyons (LF PRO), William Eakins (GO-GAME Ref Coordinator), Triona Leonard (Academy), Stiofan O’Conghaile (Juv Director), Billy Egan (Adult Director). Like everything all the effort is part of the bigger picture of the club and community and with the clubs support from executive, games meetings both adult and juvenile, pitch coordination and maintenance, fundraising, supporting all the different activities that puts the girls onto the playing field representing Lucan for both club and county.

Many thanks to all our jersey sponsors for all the different age groups and finally to all the parents, grandparents and guardians for their continued support during the year.
