GAA for All - resumes again after summer break

September 10, 2018

GAA for All resumes on Tuesday 11th September following a very successful first series before the summer.

Here's a quick recap on the first series :

Lucan Sarsfields recently completed a series of 'GAA for All', as a healthy Clubs initiative. Led by David Moran and a number of our adult volunteers, as well as a number of teenagers, this was a fantastic success with very positive feedback received from the parents.

From week 1 there was great attendance, with a peak of 25 on a couple of Tuesdays. Every week we witnessed the children growing in confidence as they became familiar with the activities and participated enthusiastically throughout the sessions.

Examples of some of the comments from the parents include -

"my son is loving the GAA and looks forward to going.....well done to you all  involved as your doing a great job with all the kids, be very proud of yourselves. The kids are loving it"

"My son is really enjoying the programme...I think it is a fantastic programme and would like to see it continue and would have no problem helping out"

"I think it's a brilliant programme, we're coming from Leixlip to do it as Leixlip's Academy would be too busy for him. We're hoping that this programme might prepare him to eventually go to our local one. Although he does his own thing and takes a while to settle he has started to join in a little more each week. Yourself and all the helpers are doing an amazing job. There's one lady helping who Liam took a shine to and is so patient and just brilliant with him"

At the last session each of the children received a certificate of participation.

A huge word of thanks to all the adult volunteers : David Moran, Triona Leonard, Colette Condon, Margaret Moran, Jo Mahon, Claire Leonard, Rachel Leonard, Joe Leonard, John Egan, as well as all the teenagers. Thanks also to the club executive and in particular Billy Egan for facilitating registration.
