On the Playing fields just the U15s football back last weekend, and the 15A team had a great start to the league with an away win vs St Brigids.
Well done to both Lucan players and management involved with Dublin, as all four Senior teams had league wins.
On Saturday night last, our Annual Dinner Dance took place. Once again, the Clubhouse was transformed and looked fantastic. We had a full house and a great night was had by all. The Club displayed all that makes it great; the volunteers past and present, friendships and of course Paul McGann’s dancing. We would like to thank Sidewalk Catering for once again serving a beautiful meal in such a professional manner. The service was excellent. The music for the night was provided by N & M and they had us all on the dance floor for the night. Thanks also to Helen Kelly of Westmanstown for her help with loaning us tables and chairs. Of course we had the obligatory raffle with a prize fund of over €500. Thank you to all who donated prizes - Cathy O'Neill, Gerry Hallissey, Josephine Donohue, Cillian Canavan, Kathleen Roche, Collins Butchers and Annadale Restaurant. In particular we would like to thank all of those who helped with setting up on Saturday morning and cleaning up on Sunday morning, Tommy Flannery, Mick Wisdom, Gerry Reynolds, PJ Finnerty, Paul Stapleton, Declan O'Leary, Mike Bowler and Rob Twomey. They were an excellent team and had everything set up and cleared away in no time. A special thanks Maeve Maguire and her team of bar staff who worked tirelessly for the night. A big THANK YOU also to our Dinner Dance Committee; while it is small it does Trojan work; Mary Flannery, Mary Reynolds, Kathleen Roche, Josephine Donohue, Alice Whyte. While they make all of the arrangements, they could not manage without the help all of the above people and we thank them most sincerely for all their help.
The Club also marked the occasion by commissioning a special medal for our past Chairman, their commitment, loyalty and vision is what has made the club what it is today. An outstanding night for the club and again we would not function without our extraordinary volunteers and the support of our members. So THANK YOU.
This Event takes place on Sunday March 4th; a super afternoon of Supreme National Hunt Racing with the best seats in the house, a four course meal, a professional tipster to assist with winning some money, Prosecco reception in the club, a return bus, and a chance to meet and greet some of our Dublin Stars both past and present. For tickets contact Joe Lavin, Jim Mulqueen, Ronan Keher.
Our GPO, David Moran, will be running a planning workshop on Tuesday 6th February - the workshop will focus on developing a well-rounded plan for the year ahead to maximise player development and how to effectively plan sessions throughout the year.
The Club Bar is looking for Volunteers to assist with the rota, it might be good for students looking to gain experience, or maybe to meet more members, full training provided. Anyone interested can leave details behind the bar.
Player Injury Fund/ Insurance
As the league competition starts back and hopefully people will not need it, but we would remind parents, players and mentors to familiarise themselves with the process for submitting claims to the player injury funds /insurance. Each code can have different stipulations and forms can be found on the club website in the Mentor Downloads section. One key point is that the claims needs to be submitted/registered to the fund/insurance within a certain time period (varies for each code), however if not first registered within the stipulated time period the claim will be void. So even if injury rehab is ongoing the claim needs to be registered within the set time frame.

Juvenile Football Report
The U-11 footballers kicked off their season seeing over 50 players participate in a friendly match v St. Sylvesters at the GAA Centre of Excellence in Abbotstown on Saturday afternoon. The players really enjoyed the experience of playing at the venue and the five competitive Go Games matches. As mentioned the U-15A footballers got their season off to a great start beating St. Brigids away on a score line of 2-9 to 1-9 in their first league outing of the season. The scheduled U-15B football match v Clanna Gael-Fontenoy fell foul of the weather and will be re-scheduled.
