For the latest news concerning Lucan Ladies Gaelic Football,


Welcome back after the summer break, not everyone took a breather, as the Adults continued their League and Championship games, while the juveniles went on holidays, Gaeltacht, summer camp or generally chilled out during July and August. The championship is underway for many teams and the we wish all, the very best.

Congratulations to the Adult Junior A team who reached the championship final, unfortunately the Cuala Ladies proved to be too strong on last Friday evening.  Read the full match report.


Thanks to all who helped out and supported the two recent club fundraisers of the Aslan gig and Car draw.


Good luck to all the  Sarsfields girls who have been selected on Dublin county panels currently in progress.


Many thanks for match reports sent in over the summer, please continue to send them in. Also can one of the team/parent organise to take an up to date team photo and email it on so that the team section of the website can be updated.


The next Ladies Football committee meeting is Thursday, 14th September at 8.30, minutes of the previous one will be circulated to mentors beforehand. 


The Dublin Senior Ladies Footballers have once again reached an All-Ireland Final on 24 September. We are organising a Bus/Match package, please contact your team Mentors to book your place.



MEET THE DUBS: Meet & Greet with the Dublin Senior Footballers

This Friday in DCU (St Clare’s), Dublin fans will have the opportunity to meet the Dublin Senior football team! From 7.30pm the team will be in DCU to meet fans, sign jerseys and take photos ahead of the All-Ireland Final on Sunday 24th September.



Lucan District Credit Union Academy (The Nursery) has returned to its regular Saturday morning slot on the All Weather Pitch at 9:30 am.


County Board notes:


Mouthguards - Players must have Mouth guards in place at all times during training and matches. There are no exceptions other than on approved medical grounds.


Concussion Guidelines for Ladies Gaelic Football are available on the National Website


Player Injury Fund - Should a player be injured during a match or training session please encourage the player or parent/guardian in the case of underage players to submit a preliminary injury form. The forms are available on the LGFA website



Team News


Adults - The A’s in the Div3 League, with one game remaining are top of the table, level on points with Skerries who have a game in hand. The B’s are struggling in their League, with two games left to play.


U18, the Minors got off to a winning start on Monday evening away to Castleknock, and host St Maurs on Monday evening (11th)


U16 The Div 2 championship got underway last Sunday, with Skerries taking the points in a high scoring game. Next up is away to Castleknock this weekend.


U15 - Both As and B teams have played two matches in the championship so far with good wins all round. Next up for both teams this Saturday(9th of September) is an away trip to Na Fianna. They are both in a 6-team group so plenty work still to be done. We wish Aoife Coffey a speedy recovery after she fractured her hand. Hopefully she ll be back in action in the next few weeks.


U14 – The A’s get their championship underway next Monday evening away to Clontarf (6:30pm) while the B’s having stepped up a division since the League, have played two tough games so far and will host Thomas Davis on the Juvenile Pitch this Friday evening.


U13 – The A’s and B’s started their cup campaigns last Saturday with wins for both.


U12 and below will be covered in the next update.
