Congratulations to U13 Hurlers who took on the
cream of Dublin Hurling and took home the Division 1 PJ Troy Trophy for the
first time in the clubs history

U11 Div. 1 Cup Final
2003
Lucan 1-3 Ballyboden 5-3
For the second time at under 11 Lucan
suffered the heartbreak of a Division 1 Cup Final defeat, having lost out in
the football decider earlier this year. On Saturday against a very
strong Ballyboden team, Lucan got off to the worst possible
start, conceding two soft goals in the first few minutes. Despite
the inspirational hurling of centre back Mathew
McCaffrey and the huge effort of David Bellew, Lucan never
recovered from this setback and failed to convert a number of
decent scoring chances, to trail by 5-3 to no score at half
time.
The break gave the boys a chance to regroup and they
were all terrific during the second half. In the most difficult of
circumstances to out score a team of Ballyboden's calibre
by 1-3 to 0-0 during this period, was a huge
achievement and a credit to their fighting spirit. Despite the the heartbreak
of losing, Lucan pride was restored and we can now look forward with
confidence to the new season.
Well done to all the players.
