Great turnout for Sarsfields’ Annual Golf Classic
Lucan Sarsfields’ Annual Golf Classic took place at the scenic Lucan Golf Club on Friday last, July 16th. The glorious weather was an unexpected bonus and undoubtedly helped the performance of the 38 participating teams. The first tee-box was booked right through from 9am to 4.30pm with just a one-hour break at lunch-time. The Club had 26 tee-box sponsors, and many other aspects of the day, such as goodie-packs and prizes, were also sponsored.
Club grateful for fantastic support
The Club wishes to express its appreciation to everyone who supported this event. In the current economic climate, 38 teams and 26 tee-box sponsors represent an extraordinary level of support. We had a large number of new teams participating and are particularly delighted so see teams representing so many local businesses and also quite a few new teams made up of club members. To everyone who supported the event, a most sincere thank you from Lucan Sarsfields.
Lucan Golf Club are brilliant hosts
Thanks also to Lucan Golf Club for the fabulous condition of the course, for their most hospitable welcome to us right through the day itself and to Unique Cuisine for an excellent meal.
Pat Toolan back in the winner’s enclosure
The winning team, sponsored by Pat Toolan, regained the title it last won in 2008, with a fine score of 88 points. In runners-up position came last year’s winners of Gerry O’Grady, Derek Quilligan and Gerry Jones who improved on their overall score in 2009 by 1 point.
