Approaching halftime  the home side held a commanding 2-4 to 0-2 lead.Lucan midfielder E O'Conghaile scored the first of his two goals before the interval to keep Lucan in touch.  The 2nd half saw Lucan up their game considerably and they controlled the play for long periods Lucan narrowed the gap to a goal and pressed hard for the equaliser. Castleknock held on to claim the points. Shane Donoghue, Oisin McCabe and Michael Mellett were strong in defence while the midfield partnership of Conor Hayes and Emmet O'Conghaile were dominant in the second half.The forwards worked hard and with a little luck might have gained more reward for their efforts.
