Clubhouse Opening Weekend

Following a weekend of activities and entertainment and despite the rain over the weekend the sun shone as  our new Clubhouse was officially opened on Monday May 5th by an Táiniste Mary Harney following an ecumenical blessing.

Our PRO Dónal Walsh commenced the proceedings by asking Fr Tony Reilly to lead an ecumenical blessing
Club Chairman Gerry MacAndrew. stressed the importance of parents getting involved to help run teams as we like most clubs had no shortage of players, particularly at underage level but needed adults to help manage these teams. He rounded off by saying that all the club now needed was a senior championship win to round off a great few years.
John Bailey, Chairman of the Dublin County Board the thanked Lucan Sarsfields for its contribution since 1886.
An Tánaiste addressed the crowd and complimented all concerned on the incredible achievement of developing the new clubhouse. An Tánaiste added that she hoped the clubhouse would become a centre for activities for all age groups in Lucan. She also reiterated her support for the Special Olympics and asked everyone present to attend at least one sporting event. She then declared the clubhouse open, cut the ribbon and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
